Since asking that question, former resident Les Eastaway has written his second comprehensive history of a town's cricket, this time in the Sapphire City called 'Inverell Cricketers, Curators and Centuries.' His first was the 'Cricket in the Manning'.
"I like history, and statistics, and the first season that I commenced scoring, there were two double centuries. I wondered, how many there have been over the decades in Inverell?" he said.

"One of the things I was searching for was double hattricks - four wickets in four balls - and I'd almost finished the book. I did a little bit more searching on the Trove website, then in the 1930's I found another double hattrick. That gave me ten for the book."
Speaking to the Times about the book, Mr Eastaway was gearing up for the launch in town this weekend.
It's an open invitation, no charge event held at 11am at the Inverell RSM Club.
Mr Eastaway said there'd be plenty of stories shared around the table as well.
"I'm expecting it to be something like a family reunion," he laughed.
Mr Eastaway will then be at the Inverell Library on Monday from 10am for a meet and greet, book signing, and more sales.
