This is a quick wrap up of what went down.
Congratulations to local player Aaron Baker who teamed up with his brother Brett Baker and finished runner up in the Veteran Doubles at the Tamworth Seniors Tournament on May 30.
Congratulations to the winners of our UTR doubles comp on the weekend which is run once a month at the Inverell Tennis club.
Entry forms and information can be picked up from the club directly or via our facebook page. Banjo Ferris and Ryan Budda-Dean won our junior division.
A special thankyou to all our juniors who participated and showed excellent sportsmanship and encouragement towards their fellow players.
Congratulations also to the winners of the senior UTR doubles Daniel Helsdingen and Ben Webb and runners up Josh Parker and Greg Van Der Woude.
Well done to our juniors who braved the early Sunday morning start to play in the Junior Development Series in Glen Innes.
We had players entered in the 10 and under boys, 10 and under girls and 12 and under boys.
This north west UTR series brought players from around the region -Inverell, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Guyra, Moree, Armidale - to play in a round robin competition.
All players should be congratulated on their effort and decorum on and off the court. Of the junior representation Kaylee Willcott, James Willman, Angus Tighe and Ryan Budder-dean.
Angus Tighe was well on the way to a fantastic result until having to pull out due to illness, and stand out performance from Ryan for reaching the elimination final.
They all played some very good tennis during the day, gaining valuable experience.
This week's local competitions have been cancelled.
"With the cold front coming through starting tomorrow the Inverell Tennis Club grading committee has made the decision to cancel the Wednesday and Thursday night competitions for this week," the club said on Facebook.
