It was an act that had been inspired by love, but the amount of community spirit on show on Sunday was more than anyone bargained for.

Two runners from the Danthonia Bruderhof community, Chad Huleatt and Darryl Domer, ran 61kms from Glen Innes to Inverell to raise money for Sheldon Brown, who is very ill.
"Happy that we could do something for someone else," Chad explained.

"We wanted to reach out to the family and do what we could - and running is what we do," Darryl added.
Both avid joggers, they set off from Glen Innes on Sunday morning, and by the time they reached the entrance to Inverell, they were accompanied by a whole host of runners of all ages.
While they have no idea how much money they've raised, they said the support locally has been amazing, but also the generosity of the international community has been "overwhelming".
"Sheldon and family, if you read this, all our love and we are thinking of you," Darryl said.
Sarah Clayton was one of those who joined in along the way, joined by Lesa Braband. They are part of a support committee, doing every thing they can to raise money and show support for their friends.
"There are so many generous business and individuals in our community who have already donated products/gifts to go towards raffles," they said.
