An 83-year-old man was the subject of an urgent medical mission after a farm accident in Ashford left him with a number of injuries.

On Saturday afternoon, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked on an urgent mission to a property just north of Ashford.

They found the man seriously injured, after he toppled backwards in a farm vehicle he was driving, down a 10 meter embankment.
He was treated at the scene by Ambulance NSW Paramedics, Aircraft Critical Care Paramedics and a doctor.
According to the chopper team, the man sustained multiple limb injuries as a result of the incident.
He was airlifted to the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a stable condition.
