He has just purchased a automated defibrillator for The Premier Store in Inverell.
He said he didn't think any other retail outlets along Byron Street had one, so to have the life-saving equipment in a centrally located position seemed like the best idea he's ever had.
While he'd been mulling the idea of getting one for a while, he said there were a few recent heart attacks that had stopped him and made him think, it's time now.

"I just feel that its important for the CBD to have one," the store owner/manager explained.
"It will be centrally located and people can come and grab it. We have the ambos, but you never know if they will be called out at the time - its a great safeguard to have."
After travelling around different towns and seeing the well-advertised signs in shops of where and who had a defibrillator, he said they will make sure they've got signs, and will get the word out there any way they can.
He has already received positive feedback from those in the community who know about it, and the staff are also behind the idea.
"We will be organising first aid courses for all the staff to attend, so they know exactly what to do if they ever have to use one." They will also be purchasing one for their Premier store in Glen Innes.
