Inverell solicitor Chris Woolcott was forced to get a COVID-19 test after attending court last month, in an incident still being investigated by police.

Mr Woolcott had been consulting with a client on June 6, who, unbeknownst to him, had sent a letter to court at 7.10am that same morning saying she'd been at the Tavern in Moree during the COVID-19 exposure times.
"Stop! Stop!" Magistrate Holly Kemp frantically called out as the court officer went to bring the woman in from outside.

Mr Woolcott was sent away and ordered to get a COVID-19 test, leading to "one of the most difficult phone calls" he's ever had to make.
"I have a child who has diabetes, so he has a compromised immune system," he explained.
"My wife and children couldn't come home, they had to stay with my mother-in-law until Sunday. They couldn't even come to get clothes".
That's notwithstanding the fact he had to "cancel everything".
He couldn't get tested until Friday, and the results did not came through until Saturday night.
Police told the Times they are still investigating the incident.
