From the get-go, the Nomads took the lead and didn't let up to score a 17.14-116 to 12.5-77 victory.
"They were tough throughout the whole day," Nomads player-coach Clarrie Barker said.
"We got the jump on them early and kept scoring.
"We had a lead most of the way through which helped us out.
"We probably played the best footy we played this year which is what I asked for and we got."
Barker said the Nomads picked apart what they knew was the Saints' defensive weakness and it paid dividends.
Heading towards the end of the season, the Nomads had a little bit of patchy form with forfeits and a couple of losses.

Barker is happy is side finished on a good note.
"Luckily enough over the past few weeks we have picked up a bit of momentum and got the ball rolling going into finals which is good," he said.
This Saturday's task against the Saints doesn't won't be an easy one with the Nomads already facing players sitting out due to the university break.
The competition's second-highest goal-kicker Pat Sharpe is unavailable.
But Barker is confident in his side's depth.
"A lot of players qualified for finals, even if they have played three or four games throughout the year," he said.
Although they got the win over Inverell on Saturday, Barker believes they might have to change their game plan at a more neutral Tamworth ground.
"Our game plan might change a bit due to the fact Tamworth doesn't have as a big ground as we do," he said.
"But we will go in with a similar game plan and try to pick on their weaknesses, a bit but similar to what we did on the weekend."
