A Glen Innes Fire and Rescue crew have made quick work in battling a blaze that could've spelled disaster for the neighboring homes.

Glen Innes Fire and Rescue acting Captain Vince Davy said it was presumed to be a stolen car which had then been torched on Whyte Lane - right next to a timber fence.
"We got the call out to a ute presumed, to be stolen and abandoned, which had been set alight by persons unknown," he told the Examiner.

The call came in at about 6.14am on Tuesday, a 302 CAFS Pumper was sent out.
When the crews arrived, they discovered a ute fully engulfed with flames.
Firefighters donned their Breathing Apparatus, and with the use of a 38mm hose had the fire extinguished in a matter minutes.
"The car had been totally destroyed," Mr Davy explained, saying they then turned it over to police.
Officers were came to examine the scene, and are continuing their investigations into the blaze.
