In the coming months, new pavement courses will be laid and the missing link tied in with already completed construction.
The project is jointly funded by the State and Federal Governments and Gwydir Shire Council.
Once complete, road trains will be able to travel from the northern part of Gwydir Shire Council onto the Gwydir Highway without detouring via Moree and heavy vehicles will be removed from the Warialda CBD.
The project has a targeted completion date of February 2022.
Weekly updates with drone flyovers will be posted on Council's Facebook page to keep the community updated.
