TINGHA Museum was the scene of a robbery on Saturday morning as an unknown number of people broke in and stole a stone worth roughly $100,000.

The 80kg piece of quartz was taken at around 1am, and officers from the New England Police District were notified later that day.
A crime scene has now been established, and police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen something.

The stolen item is described as being a "dark brown smoky quartz grass stone".
