Jo Williams and I are the first group on the ballot paper, and independents.
What is your vision for the Inverell region?
My vision is for all residents, to have their lifestyle expectations met, and exceeded in Inverell Shire, which will continue to be a respected, strong regional presence in Northern Tablelands.
What do you think is the single most important issue facing the Inverell area?
Financial capacity to improve Inverell Shire. Nothing can be maintained or upgraded without adequate funding. Staying "Fit for the Future".
Ensuring Council has 'shovel ready' projects to gain grants for works, such as Copeton Northern Foreshores, and maintaining infrastructure and services.
What projects/developments do you intend to advocate for if elected as a councillor?
I support roads, footpaths, cycleways, renewable energy, business, culture and communication technologies, and Council's redevelopment of the Inverell Pool into a modern Aquatic Centre. As delegate of the Inverell Equestrian Council and Library, I develop good community facilities.
What expertise or attributes do you have?
My proactive attitude, knowledge, and 22 years' experience will allow me to serve you well. I graduated UNE in 2014 with a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning. Planning is a core service of Council. My experience as Chair of both main committees and Deputy Mayor has given me qualities which will be used for the benefit of Inverell Shire.
