What is your vision for the Inverell region?
Inverell Shire is a vibrant and all-inclusive community. It is a socially and economically sustainable shire in which to reside with many natural attractions and first class facilities to enjoy.
What do you think is the single most important issue facing the Inverell area?
My vision is to explore options to build on what we already have in our towns and villages and ensure our shire becomes a tourist destination not just a drive through.
What projects/developments do you intend to advocate for if elected as a councillor?
The most important issue will always be maintaining and upgrading our road network. Our economic future relies heavily on our agricultural sector and it is imperative that our roads are capable of accepting the larger vehicle combinations being used in that industry.
Many projects come before council and are dealt with accordingly. I don't stand on any single issue, however, my main thrust if I am re-elected will be to see the commencement of the new swimming complex and hopefully its completion. I will also be advocating for the realignment and upgrade of both Orchard Place and Schwenkes Lane along with an indoor sports arena for consideration in future years.
What expertise or attributes do you have which would help you in undertaking the role of councillor?
My previous terms as a councillor and over fifty years of involvement in community organisations and thirty years of business ownership would convey that I have the expertise and attributes to represent our community again should I be re-elected.
