What is your vision for the Inverell region?
I have lived in Inverell since I came here aged 14. I was called up into the army in 1967 and posted to Vietnam for 12 months in 1968.
My vision is to see most of the vacant shops full and functioning again.
What do you think is the single most important issue facing the Inverell area?
I think the single most important issue in Inverell and district is the lack of doctors. I spent 20 years as a volunteer driver for Home and community care doing weekly trips to Armidale or Tamworth taking Inverell and district residents to see specialist doctors and have seen first hand the need to encourage doctors to our area.
What projects/developments do you intend to advocate for if elected as a councillor?
What expertise or attributes do you have which would help you in undertaking the role of councillor?
I have spent over 50 years as an active member of Inverell Sub branch. I also was a member of Inverell Legacy for 20 years, being president on 3 different terms. In 1988 I was elected to the board of the Inverell RSM club and I am still there as Chairman of the board for the last 22 years.
The experience and the courses I have completed in Human resources, Governance, Finance and Meeting procedures during my involvement with these organisations should give me a step up to what would be required as a councillor.
