My vision for Inverell Shire is to continue to "raise the bar" for the betterment of our entire community.
I believe growth is a key factor to sustaining continuous improvement and maintaining a high level of services and infrastructure, and to do this we need to attract new business, services and people to our Shire.
What do you think is the single most important issue facing the Inverell area?
The single most important issue facing Inverell Shire is the lack of health services. Services have been deteriorating for many years and I believe has reached an unacceptable level.
The construction of our new hospital has been very positive; however, the lack of doctors and key medical personnel is not meeting the current needs of our community and is an issue I will address.
What projects/developments do you intend to advocate for if elected as a councillor?
If re-elected as councillor, I will continue to advocate for the redevelopment of the Memorial Swimming Pool, to a "state of the art" Aquatic Centre that caters for all abilities and age groups that is affordable and practical for all of our community.
I will also advocate that our rural towns have adequate services and infrastructure.
What expertise or attributes do you have which would help you in undertaking the role of councillor?
My track record as a sitting councillor on Inverell Shire, demonstrates my attributes and expertise to continue on this journey. I have over twenty years of management experience in the community service sector and this has given me the knowledge to pursue our community needs.
In recognition of my work in community service I was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2014.
