As we prepare (or brace) ourselves for whatever new surprises 2022 has in store for us, we thought we'd take a look at the moments that made up the last 12 months: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
In this photo gallery are moments captured by the Times, moments that relive the fun, the triumph and the community spirit that stood steadfastly against tragedy and heartbreak.

From the opening of the new hospital AND the new police station, fundraising efforts showing off Inverell's community passion for care, to the joy of coming together with family and friends as events started up again as COVID-19 restrictions were eased - we've had plenty of reasons to celebrate.
Business has bloomed and changed alongside the now-complete main street rejuvenation. Familiar faces decided to make sea-changes. New initiatives fostered in 2021 are set to progress. And new artwork breathed life into an iconic Inverell personality.
But it wasn't all roses.
The Shire has seen floods, a mouse plague, COVID-cancellations, ram-raids. And several untimely and shocking deaths which rocked our tight-knit community to the core.
We've survived all this and more, and taken the happiness when we can.
