Mr McIntyre has said Mr Windsor resigned rather than face a massive defeat behind himself and Mr Joyce and believes that he had done the honourable thing.
“Windsor has paid the ultimate price for betraying New England and Australia by backing Gillard, despite the fact that only eight per cent of the New England voters in 2010 supported Labor,” Mr Macintyre said.
“Moving forward as an Australian voter and tax payer I am sick of voters not electing the Prime Minister.”
Mr McIntyre said that according to recent poll conducted by Australian Spectator (commissioned by 21st Century Media), after primary votes he had 21 per cent of votes.
Mr Joyce reportedly was the favourite with 42 per cent votes and Mr Windsor garnered 17 per cent and 20 per cent said they were undecided.
Mr McIntyre said he expected that some of the undecided are more likely to support him.
