Besides the strong attendance of exhibitors and visitors, they were able to contribute the weekend’s proceeds of $350 toward the Ronald McDonald Houses serving the region.
Since opening in 1991, more than 1150 nights of accommodation have been provided to people in the Inverell area at the Newcastle Ronald McDonald House.
The Tamworth House opened in 2008 and since then, 211 nights were provided for local families.
Winners over the weekend were Noel and Leah Humphries of Delungra who won Overall Champion for their ruby glass collection, and also the Champion in Collectables title as well as the George Wenzel trophy for their ceramic collection by one manufacturer. In their case, it was for their rare collection of Wade pottery.
Betty Wilcox of Grafton took the prize for Champion in Bottles and the Boyd Mepham trophy.
The Junior Champion prize was awarded to the Delungra Girl Guides for the display of Girl Guide patches, sashes and miscellany, and the runner up junior champion was Breanna Johnson for her bottle collection.
