"Music at Mimosa will be a great way to unwind on a Friday evening. Pack a picnic, bring a chair, sit back, relax and let the music waft by!" said Opera North West's Artistic Director, Ms Peta Blyth.
Mrs Blyth will be accompanied by Armidale pianist Deidre Rickards, Margaret Butcher on viola and violin and Julie Fawcett on violin.
The program offers a wide range of music including violin solos by Mozart and Piazolla, duets by Leclair and Shostakovich, arias by Handel, Bellini, Puccini, Gounod and Gershwin, plus themes from Ladies in Lavender & Schindler's List. Artists include two violinists, Margaret Butcher and Julie Fawcett, Armidale based pianist Deidre Rickards and Peta Blyth, soprano.
"It will be wonderful to welcome people once again to the ‘paddock’. Not Opera in the Paddock, but a pleasant evening in the paddock, even if it is a little on the dry side!" Mrs Blyth said.
Opera North West Ltd is collaborating with the Inverell Music Appreciation Group to present and promote the concert.
"The Inverell Music Appreciation Group has done much to promote classical music in Inverell and has brought to the town many artists over many years," said Mrs Blyth.
Opera North West is a non profit organisation which has produced Opera in the Paddock at Mimosa for eleven years and over thirty concerts throughout the region. Meanwhile, the new venue for Opera in the Paddock will be announced in the very near future.
Opera North West Ltd gratefully acknowledges the support of Arts NSW for the Opera North West series.
Tickets for the evening are $33 for adults and $15 for students. Bookings can be made online at www.operainthepaddock.com.au or phone 6724 8561.
