Close to $2 million has been raised by the Australian Inner Wheel Clubs which has financed research in many areas for the application of cord blood, with promising results and achievements.
Goods will be offered for sale outside New England Mutual on Friday morning May 2. Inner Wheel plan to continue raising funds until all results of the past research can be established and further put into use. There are many stories of lives rescued and turned around by cord blood transplants and exciting possibilities for cures for many diseases.
The Inner Wheel Club of Inverell recently had Vicki Higgins from the Women’s Refuge speak at a meeting, and the club responded by donating merchandise useful for the residents to take to their new homes.
Recently, also, the club catered for the very successful Women’s International Day held at Inverell Station and hosted by Inner Wheel member Cynthia Archer. Inner Wheel is essentially a friendship club with many interests and activities and meets monthly.
The rules of membership of the Inner Wheel Club have been greatly varied so if you are a community person but haven’t any connection to Rotary you could still qualify as a member and would be warmly welcomed.
Current president Andrea Hudson would be very pleased to discuss this with you. Please call 6722 1315 if you are interested.
