Police will allege the teens threatened the female employee and left the scene with cash and cigarettes.
Police from New England Local Area Command were called to the scene and following investigations arrested four males at a home on Girle Street.
Officers also seized two knives at the home.
Detectives have charged two of the males, aged 16 and 18.
They will face Inverell Local Court on Wednesday after being refused bail on charges of robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
The 18-year-old has also been charged with an attempted robbery at the rear of a pizza shop in Inverell last Sunday night.
The other two males arrested this morning have been released without charged at this stage.
Tuesday: Inverell police are investigating an armed robbery, which took place at the Inverell Roadhouse on the Warialda Road at approximately 3.40am Tuesday morning.
Crime manager Inspector Rowan O'Brien reported the two offenders armed with knives entered the store, and demanded cash and cigarettes. They left on foot and nobody was injured in the incident.
“A short time later a number of people were arrested by police in connection with this offence, and they are currently assisting police with their inquiries," Inspector O'Brien said.
