It will be a 10am start at the Creek’s tennis courts, with a cake stall, entertainment, competitions, raffles, a lucky door prize, a white elephant stall and appearance from members of the Inverell Antique Motor Club.
“We try to do something each year for the community and we always get good support, which we really appreciate,” president of the Staggy Creek Recreation Reserve Trust, Pam Mason, said.
“The ladies have been selling tickets in the streets and it has been amazing just how many of those we have sold.
“Everyone is welcome to come along and it will definitely go ahead, come rain, hail or shine.”
All funds raised will go to the Inverell Community Access Bus and the trust hopes to raise about $1000. To date the trust has raised about $400 and is very pleased with the way things are going.
A $10 cover charge will apply, which includes morning tea and a barbecue sausage sizzle lunch.
“And the tennis courts will be ready for play should anyone want to run off their lunch,” Mrs Mason laughed.
Trust vice-president, Margaret Worgan, said they were trying to raise as much as they possibly can this year.
“The bus is a very good cause,” she said.
“It gets people out and about and it gives carers a little break, too.”
