ANOTHER year has rounded off for Inverell High School, and they celebrated student success in academic and sport and personal growth last Thursday at their 2014 presentation night.

Principal Penny Colley is in her first year with the school and said she was very proud of the achievements of the students and the school.
The night was launched with a Welcome to Country by students Dean Davis and Jack Jeffery. Students Madison Roussos and Jackson Valiukas gave the assembled crowd opening remarks before the announcement of the Dux of class 2013, Madeleine Bower by deputy principal Wayne Fowke.
Awards were plentiful for students in all disciplines and accomplishments. The Principal’s Awards for Academic Excellence were awarded to 34 students in years 7 through 12. The top prize winners in each year were: year 7, Ruby Walker; Year 8, Benjamin Ellis; year 9, Joshua Hawkins; year 10, Declan Drake; Year 11, Hannah Worsley and year 12, Tilly Witherden-Costigan.
High sports achievements were plentiful, but North West Blues awards were given to student year 9 student, KC Edmonds for rugby league and Angus Bird, year 9, for 15s touch football.
Three other notable awards were given for individual achievements.
Year 12 student Ellen O’Rourke received the RSM Tertiary Scholarship. The Paul Alliston Award was received by year 12 student Jake Dal Santo and the Inverell East Bowling Club Bursary was awarded to Year 12 student Anzhelika Yashchuk.
