Club president Greg Seagrott said he was very pleased with the attendance over the weekend.
“It started 6am on the Saturday and at 10am on Sunday, and there was a lot of fishing done and a lot of fish measured in,” Seagrott said.
“It was a keenly contested comp, especially by the juniors, who turned out in big numbers. That’s always pleasing to see.”
The overall winner of the two-day event was junior club member, Codey Cullen, who measured in 445 centimetres of fish. Shane DeGunst was the runner-up with 411 centimetres and Bob Austin ran third with 407 centimetres.
The largest fish of the weekend, however, went to sub-junior, Ayden Seagrott, who landed a more than respectable Yellow Belly that measured a whopping 63.5 centimetres.
Greg Seagrott said the weekend also included Saturday night out for those who liked to camp.
“We had a very social night and the kids enjoyed it. We’ve got a lot of kids in our club, and that’s great,” he said.
Seagrott said the club was very grateful to Inverell Camping World for their support during the past couple of years.
