President Ivan Coleman thinks it may be the end of the club, and said the decision will be made after training on Friday night.
“Our player numbers have dwindled. There’s not enough turning up for training, and a few of the boys had a yarn last night, you know, they just think they’re beating their heads up against a brick wall,” Coleman said.
“I don’t think we’ll be able to field an A grade team. We’ll have a bit of a yard tonight, and I think we’ll just have to go into recess.
“I think recess for Tingha might mean permanent.”
Coleman said tonight’s training run could be called a crisis training run, but thinks he may be just shifting deck-chairs on the Titanic.
“It’s not fair on the blokes that are there, that are turning up every week and train,” Coleman said.
He said the club had 30 A grade players registered and good numbers for the League Tag, but now things were looking grim for the club.
“We’ve got to make a final decision. It’s no good getting two or three games into the season and then pulling out,” Coleman said.
“I’ve told the blokes if any of them want to go now we won’t hold their clearances up.
“Speaking for myself, I think this might be the end of Tingha Rugby League Club. No juniors is a big thing, if you’ve got no juniors you’ve got no future.
