Anna is an accomplished stage actor and television perfomer.
Both Macintyre and Inverell High School students participated in the workshop, and Anna tasked the students to perform in several different scenarios, and in teams of two or more to create theatre.
In one session, two students were asked to perform a brief, wordless piece to music where the characters fed off each other’s physical expression.
In another, groups of five had five minutes to devise a 20 second piece to act out the meaning of a word.
All efforts resulted in enthusiastic applause and laughter from the audience of students.
Anna felt it was a inspiring to see the level of interest and participation in the Inverell students.
“Students in high school today will become the theatre practitioners of tomorrow, and to know that they are as passionate and dedicated and committed and that being regional has nothing to do with talent and passion, it’s really comforting,” Anna said.
“Makes me feel really safe; in safe hands,” she grinned.
Every student seemed rapt with the day. Some felt a little awkward working with students from the other high school, others felt it was terrific to share the space with the cross-town school.
