Inverell police have confirmed early this afternoon, May 29, that the body of Mr Milenko Maksimovic has been found.
The discovery was made after a full-scale search of the local area over the past two days, involving the collaborative efforts of local Police, Ambulance, Volunteer Rescues Association, Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Sate Emergency Services.
Mr Maksimovic, aged 72, was last seen at the Inverell Hospital at around 6pm on Wednesday, May 27.

Police resumed a full scale search for an elderly man with severe dementia after he went missing from the Inverell Hospital on Wednesday evening, May 27.
Inverell police sergeant Ross Chilcott said Milenko Maksimovic, better known as Mick, was last seen at the hospital at around 6pm on Wednesday evening.
Mr Maksimovic is 72 years old and is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a thin build, 175cm tall, dark hair with a dark moustache and grazing to his face.
At the time he was wearing a red chequered shirt, grey tracksuit pants and brown slippers; he may appear confused or disoriented.
Police have been told Mr Maksimovic speaks with a strong accent.
Police, hospital staff and local Volunteer Rescue Association members cooperated to mount a search through Wednesday night, before taking up the seach again yesterday morning.
Residents have been asked to check their backyards and any sheds on their properties for the missing man.
Police have been told Mr Maksimovic may be attempting to make his way back towards the township of Ashford.

A SEARCH resumed this morning for a man reported missing in the Boggabri area at the weekend.
A police helicopter has been tasked to the banks of the Namoi River after 72-year-old Peter Riordan failed to return from a fishing trip.
Mr Riordan was last seen leaving a caravan park in Boggabri in his car about 3.30pm Friday.
Police said it’s believed he was heading to the Namoi River to go fishing but when he hadn’t returned on Sunday afternoon, he was reported missing.
Officers searched the banks of the river and well-known fishing holes in the area yesterday but have been unable to find him. SES crews are assisting police on the ground this morning.
Mr Riordan is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall and of slim build with brown hair and hazel/green eyes.
His car, which is also missing, is described as a 1993-model silver Toyota Landcruiser with NSW registration plates AI 70 WB.
Anyone who sees Mr Riordan should conduct Moree Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
