Stafs team captain Kerry Stafford said it was a good match up for the Inverell teams.
“It was hard, a hard game,” he said.
“Once it is played like that it is pretty hard and fast.”
Stafford said, in the end, his defeated team could not hold up against the younger Men in Black squad and conceded a 4-2 defeat.
“The MIB boys played well. There is a lot of youth in that side so that makes a difference,” he said.
Going into next week’s round, he said the team will be welcoming back a number of players called away to representative matches and other sporting disciplines.
“We have two blokes away at 45s in Newcastle and we have a young bloke who is away playing Rugby today. He is very handy in the centre. He controls the centre well,” Stafford said.
In spite of the defeat, he said he was happy with the teams performance.
“The young blokes have been standing up well in the last three or four weeks, but it is a good effort.”
