Membership assures entry for all three days of the event, and the committee said that support was much appreciated.
They are inviting the community to attend its annual general meeting with a general meeting to follow on Saturday, July 26 at 2.30pm at the showground office.
The committee was happy to report a successful 2015 show.
Committee president Graham McKenzie said the 2016 show planning is well underway. Next year’s Inverell Show is scheduled from March 3-5 with new additions, the return of old favourites and continuity of timeless events people enjoy each year.
Mr McKenzie said people are welcome with open arms, share their ideas, and they will embrace new members.
Team penning will be a new feature in the horse events for 2016. Team penning clinics will be held prior to the show to introduce the sport to Inverell.
The Showgirl competition is on again for 2016.
“We’re looking for young ladies to come forward,” Mr McKenzie said. “The junior side of it is just about fully booked now; the little ones, they’re right into it, the senior girls, we’re looking for senior girls to nominate for that.” Shearing and the floral arts will return next year with solid favourites such as the demolition derby, chainsaw and log-splitting, fireworks and side shows.
Besides the ring events, the Friday night rodeo, local rodeo on Saturday night and the always-anticipated campdraft will bring in the crowds.
The committee stressed that Inverell, like other New England communities, is evolving, and they consider activities and attractions that will appeal to the new generations of residents.
