ROYAL Hotel Social Fishing Club held their annual general meeting and at the Hotel recently. It was a great day, with 55 members turning up for the festivities. The club’s family area was aptly named with the many juniors in attendance.

Greg Seagrott was returned unopposed as president for 2015-16. Most other officer bearers were re-elected to their existing positions.
The AGM was followed by the club’s presentations and many successful anglers received an award for this year’s effort.
Overall club winner was Ashleigh Handebo with a total 3360mm of fish and the runner-up was Graeme Crisp with 3150mm. Junior girl’s 120cm Cod went to Hannah Crisp and 62cm Yellow Belly was awarded to Hannah Crisp and Mykala Crisp.
Junior boy’s 90cm Cod went to Ashleigh Handibo and 61cm Yellow Belly to Luke Gibson. Theo Spicer won with 61cm Catfish, too. Luke Gibson won with 40cm Silver Perch and Ashleigh Handebo won the other species with 120cm Shark.
Sub junior’s 63cm Yellow Belly and a 53cm Catfish was awarded to Ayden Seagrott.
Ladies’ winners Kay Krug 65cm Yellow Belly, Casey Orchard 61cm Catfish and Lannie Rose with a 37cm Snapper in the other species.
Men’s winners Graham Candy 9 cm Cod and a 29cm Redfin. Donald Brown 39cm Silver Perch, Bob Austin and Graeme Crisp, each with a 63cm Yellow Belly. Bob Austin with a 62cm Catfish and Greg Seagrott with a 125cms Queen Fish in the other species fish.
President Seagrott gave an encouragement award to Annalise Crisp for her effort to catch a fish. It was very hard when she had two sisters fishing in the same boat. The club invited Col and Von Hawkins from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service to the presentation day, and a cheque for $500 was donated by the fishing club to this important emergency service.
The Royal Hotel donated a Gerni pressure washing system to the club to be raffled this was won by Leesha Sipple. President Seagrott and the club committee thanked all members for attending the day and the Royal Club Bistro for the great meal.
