Pork, veal, mushroom and cheese meatballs
- 500g pork and veal mince
- 50g finely chopped mushrooms
- 50g breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup any chopped fresh herbs
- 1 clove of crushed garlic
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 beaten egg
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Additional:
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 60g cheese chopped into small cubes of any preferred strong cheese
- Oil for frying (small amount)
Method:
►Combine ingredients except ‘additional category’, in a bowl and mix well.
►Use wet hands to mold ingredients into small balls.
►Add a piece of cheese to the centre of each ball and then remold to close.
►Roll each ball in the cornflour, till coated.
►Then shallow fry in the oil until well cooked.
►Drain on kitchen paper to remove any excess oil.
