Saturday’s hot conditions did not deter one competitor, and along with the mud pit, the introduction of the inflatable Obstacool course as part of the junior competitions was as popular as a basket of puppies.
“It was all amazing. We had every team show up on the day who had registered,” event secretary Lynn Lennon said. “We had 326 juniors.”
The adults section has 86 teams, up 22 from last year. Defending champs, Mick’s Team, of die-hards Mick Hoynes, Nic Hoynes, Callum Dolby and central coast’s Peter Spanidis, won the day.
Mick had two wry words for getting through the Toughen Up: “Run fast”.
