On the Pulse would like to congratulate Max Woods. Max celebrated his 101st birthday in Mosman on Easter Friday, and received many congratulatory calls from his New England friends. He is happy and cheerful, and looking forward to participating in this year’s Anzac Day parade in Martin Place.
Let’s spread our wings already
It has been some time since On the Pulse has been able to fly to a capital city from Inverell, but that service may be on the table again, as Pelican Airlines has called for expressions of interest in an air service from local councils. And Inverell council is one of about 30 others that have put in their bids.
Some might remember Aero Pelican, which also owned Brindabella, and didn’t last very long here a few years ago. Rest assured this is not the same company.
It’s now owned by three ex-employees, Paul Graham, Marty Hawley and Emil McCabe, and when On the Pulse spoke to Marty he said Pelican Airlines is travelling so well it now needs to grow.
Marty told On the Pulse the company has a lot of work to do with the expressions it has already received, but does have some historic data from Inverell to consider.
He said it was all part of the bigger picture and that everything was on the table at the moment.
It’s only very early days yet and absolutely nothing has been decided.
We may get something, we may not.
What has got On the Pulse absolutely flummoxed is why council took the matter into the closed session of its March meeting. Could it be that council has learnt its lesson when it comes to getting ratepayers concerned or over-excited?
