Inverell RSL Sub-Branch president Pat McMahon said he was still pleased very by this morning’s turnout.
“It was a great service and Sarah Turner’s singing was brilliant,” Pat said.
“Our guest speaker, Geoff Phillips, was there, and the cooler weather was a bit better for everyone.”
Pat said this year’s parade, due to start at about 10am, would be led by an Army Bushmaster.
“It’s going to be a huge march, again all the school students will be there,” he said.
“We’ve got the 12/16 hunter Lancers doing the guard for us again, and at 11.05am the RAAF will send a Globemaster over to honour all who have served.
“We’ve got a great young lady, Ashleigh Campbell, singing I Still Call Australia Home after that.
“That’s going to be very, very special for everyone, because she’s got just a perfect voice.”
