Club president Heinrich Haussler said it was a disappointing weekend with both the A grade and B grade losing their matches.
“The result and the score does not reflect in any way on the boys played,” Haussler said.
“South Armidale is a good side and we kept it up to them and we had chances.
“Unfortunately we haven’t got anyone who has got the finish, unlike when we had Daniel Ferris and Jackson Haussler.” Jackson Haussler was the leading goal scorer last year, and Daniel Ferris took out the same honour the year before.

Heinrich Haussler said the Joeys were a very young side, the club is building and there are a lot of promising signs.
“I think it will take us a season or two. You can see when you watch them play, its getting better,” he said.
“Last week, first grade was 1-0 up at half-time against last year’s competition winner. Only two real scrappy goals in the end cost them and they went 2-1 down, which was a very, very good result.
“That’s why against Souths, it was really a bit of a blow-out. I think when we couldn’t convert our penalty, that’s when the boys had their heads down.”
Haussler said it did not matter what sport it was, every team went through the process of rebuilding.
“I remember when we first started with the Joeys, the scores were 12-0, 14-0, and that’s how it was for the whole season,” he said.
“Already this season we’ve have closer sides, we’ve had a win and our next home game will be against Moree. Hopefully we can take the three points home because Moree is also struggling.
Haussler said the game against Moree would be the clash of the bottom teams.
