With a final score of 56-0, teacher Peter Ehsman said the Inverell team were strong from start to finish, with a 36-0 score by halftime.
“They probably played their best game of the competition,” he said.
“I think their defence set the platform for the game.” Walking away from their semi final with a 42-6 success, Ehsman said Holy Trinity knew they could win the final. Exhaustive defence made it definitive, with no Tumut tries making it through.
“The boys played as a team the whole way through,” Ehsman said of the season.
“It was really good, and a big team effort.”
The under 16 side also made it through to the final, but were defeated 26-16 by Cootamundra’s Sacred Heart Central School. “They started the final really well, getting out to a 16-0 lead, but Cootamundra had a perfect day.”
