Sapphire City Motor Sports Club organised the all-for-charity event that saw over 1200 adults plus children clocked at the gate with 189 entries on display; 36 more than 2015.
“It was excellent, everyone was over the moon, haven’t had a bad complaint yet,” club member Spanner Tanner said.
Sam Fagg was riding around the Village track on his stepfather Snapper Macey’s latest creation, a fantastical motorbike, powered by a Moffat Virtue generator engine with a tractor seat, and it drew a lot of attention.
“The spokes are out of a Chev, it’s a T-model front end, cut in half, it’s an A-model front end there, cut in half again, it’s a DEUTZ air-cooled engine cylinder. Not sure what the turbo’s come off,” Sam said.
“That’s a handbrake off of a tractor, which is actually now the clutch. I’ve had it up to 19.8, in first gear but I’m too scared to go into second and third,” he chuckled.
