Music and blood pumped as students spent two hours working through seven rotations of various skipping activities and listened to nutrition and healthy heart talks. Wearing huge grins and red shirts, students partnered up, lined up for long rope skipping and hopped their way through rows of hula hoops.
“The kids are really keen, especially the younger ones,” sports co-ordinator Trish Dal Santo said. She said the students had been exercising for the past six weeks as they practiced for the big day.
“Their skills and coordination have improved so much. It’s been really good for them in that way. And helps them with their learning in the classroom as well, so it’s been really good.”
Most funds will go towards the National Heart Foundation, with 10 per cent set aside for Catholic Mission.
