A blue-green algae red alert at Copeton Dam is confined to a small part of the northern foreshore, says park manager David Allan.

He was speaking after the Barwon algal committee issued a red level warning on Thursday..Mr Allan said the test was done a week ago and the bloom could disperse by next test.
The park hosts the Australian yellow belly fishing competition this weekend. Last weekend’s cod classic was won by Water Rats team with a 109cm fish.
