The best seat in the house for local T20 cricket this Saturday might be 4pm at Cameron Oval. Defending 2016 B grade T20 champion Tingha will face the Warriors in what Tingha’s club spokesman Greg Livermore thinks will be a great match to watch.

“I think it will be great game, because the Warriors play the same type of cricket as us,” he said.
“Both sides know each other pretty well, and in a lot of cases we have relatives or people who are related to each other in both sides, so that makes it a little more interesting as well.”
He said the current Tingha side has the nucleus of last year’s winning team, so he did not think there would be too many changes to their regular style of play.
“We’ll just play the game like the boys normally play the one-day matches,” Greg said.
“It’s fast paced, so we’ll be out there to get as may runs as we can within that 20 overs, and that’s the way Tingha plays, and irrespective of how many wickets we lose along the way, we’ll try to bat out the 20 overs.”
B grade will be played out at 1pm with RSM facing the Warriors and Invincibles against Staggy Creek. Then at 4pm, Tingha will take the field with the Warriors, and Staggy Creek will play RSM.

In the A grade, Square and Compass captain Eric Higgins said they will change their batting order from the one-day to meet the power hitting that is emblematic of the 20/20 game.
“We try to give the young blokes who haven’t had much of a bat, give them a go, because if they go out and score a few quick runs, good, if they don’t, it doesn’t really matter, we’ve got other batsmen there.
Sticky-fingered fielders are critical in the opening overs of T20 when only two are allowed on the field, and Eric said they have the talent.
“We’ve got Joe Smith, he’s really good, and we’ve got Jai Tasker; they’re our two young fellows,” he said.
Campbell and Freebairn’s Brendon Campbell said they will be suffering a bit after the loss of two of their best players, Richard Wilson and Sean Rynne.
“We sort of regroup a bit now, and see what we’ve got,” Brendon said.
McCosker will host the A grade games, with C&F facing Tatts Rats at 1pm, alongside S&C against RSM. At 4pm, RSM will play C&F, and the Rats will play Staggy Creek.
