Hot conditions greeted cricketers for the resumption of Inverell Cricket Association with the Twenty 20 series commencing last Saturday, January 14. Square & Compass won the toss and sent RSM to the crease and after their 20 overs were 9-108.

Best with the bat was Taine Riley (23) and Jaxon Stafford on 15. For Sq & C the spin of Alex White claimed 4-19 while Declan Drake took 3-24. In reply, Square & Compass reached their target in a nail biter to claim the match at 9-109 in the final over.
Jai Tasker made 31 with Alex Smith (20) and Alex Livingston 19 the main contributors. Best bowling for RSM was Jaxon Stafford with 3-17 off three overs.
The second A Grade encounter saw Campbell & Freebairn sneak home against Tattersalls Rats. Rats went to the crease in an aggressive mood, and were 2-44 after five overs.
Robert Russell hit out to score 37 while Vaughan Gallen was last man out on 45 with Tatts all out in 17 overs for 115. Blake Uebergang bowled well for 4-17 while Adam Sharwood took 2-23.
Uebergang led by example with the bat to make 33, Tony Blake hit 20 and Nathan Marsh scored 16. The Rebels won in the last over finishing at 7-119.
Square & Compass reached their target in a nail biter to claim the match.
In B grade at Cameron Oval, Staggy Creek had a strong win over Invincibles. Staggy scored 8-140 with Invincibles making 7-114. Best with the bat for Invincibles was Jason Muhs on 70 not out and Mike Williams remained not out on 20.
The second B grade encounter saw RSM defeat Empire Warriors also at the Cameron Park complex. RSM made 6-122 with Daniel Brown scoring 48 and Tom Mitchell on 15.
The Warriors finished on 8-121 with Brendan Germany taking 4-28 and Jacob Haines supporting by taking 2-18.
All matches in round two that afternoon in both grades lasted only a few overs with Mother Nature releasing torrential rain and gale force winds.
A grade continues at McCosker Ovals 1 and 2 this weekend, with all sides starting round one at 1pm, and round 2 at 4pm. B grade meets at Cameron Oval. Round one play also begins at 1pm, with round two commencing at 4pm.
