With a new album, Happy Ever After, in tow, fans can expect some new material from Lawrence at this year’s big event, along with some old favourites.
She’s also up for two Golden Guitar awards this year, for Female Artist of the Year and Vocal Collaboration of the year.
To add to her list of accomplishments, Lawrence is also the festival’s Family ambassador which she has taken on with pride.
“It’s a really nice role, I’m really proud of that.”
Lawrence’s big show, will be held at Wests’ Leagues Club on Friday, January 27 at 1.30pm.
“I do it every year on a Friday at Blazes (auditorium),” she said.
“I’ll get to do all the songs that people love and I’ll have a full band which is special.”
One of Lawrence’s favourite songs that has earnt her a Golden Guitar nomination is Cheers to The Girls - an ode to women across the nation.
“It’s been great, I have loved the reaction to that song - it’s just a powerful song.
“The reaction is bigger than what I can imagine, it’s empowering other women and is a really supportive song of women and girls.”
Lawrence chose country stars Fanny Lumsden and Catherine Britt to appear on the track with her.
Having worked with many fellow artists and close friends previously, Lawrence said she wanted to collaborate with Britt and Lumsden because they were both strong women she had never worked with them before.
“I wanted some women who would deliver the message the same way I wanted to, with strength and having stood up for themselves in various different ways.
“Catherine has done that her whole career and Fanny is an independent artist - headstrong and forthright.”
Lawrence described Tamworth as her “home away from home” and says apart from Sydney, it’s the next town she visits the most.
“I turned up in Tamworth in 2004 with a big goal and a big dream and Tamworth allowed that to happen to me.
“It does that to most artists,” she said.
