Opera in the Paddock enjoyed perfect conditions on Saturday night for its Delungra concert at the property where the event was born in 2002. Soprano, Opera North West artistic director and event founder Peta Blyth said they were very pleased with the results.
“It was a wonderful night – so lucky with the weather; it was perfect,” she said. This year the event featured three younger performers, up-and-coming in the industry. Peta said they valued the event.
“They did – a fantastic time and it’s a different experience, because singing in the outdoors is quite different, and they would have gained a lot from that,” she said.
“And working with an orchestra – that doesn’t come up every day. They enjoyed it and had a lovely time.”
Peta said they had about 500 attending the Delungra event, which was preceded by a performance at Armidale’s Lazenby Hall on Friday night.
