Police allege the 52-year-old local man indecently assaulted three girls on several occasions over a 10-year period from 2002.
The complaints were first made to police in 2012 but a NSW Police spokesperson said they were withdrawn before the investigation was finalised.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad recommenced an investigation earlier this year into allegations two young girls were indecently abused by man known to them.
During the new investigation, detectives identified a third young girl who they allege was also indecently assaulted.
Investigations came to a head last week, a police spokesperson said.
A 52-year-old man was arrested in the Inverell CBD by investigators and is facing nine separate charges relating to the aggravated indecent assault of a child.
