The Inverell Council Chambers were buzzing with excitement as Fly Corporate sales manager Geoff Woodham announced the airline’s intention to revitilise the local air service at 12pm on Wednesday.

From September 13 this year, Fly Corporate will run a Monday to Friday morning service to Brisbane and back via Moree.
“We will be launching these services with great pride and working with your teams to make sure that this is a successful and vital opportunity for Inverell and the surrounding communities,” Fly Corporate sales manager Geoff Woodham said.
He thanked the Inverell Shire Council, Chamber of Commerce and Inverell Air Services Working Group, with a particular mention of founder Neil Eigeland.
“This is magnificent news for this community,” member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall said.
Mr Marshall said Inverell was very fortunate to have an airport and an airport facility that was purpose built for the Fly Corporate service
“Council must have had great vision to build that great new terminal about six years ago, knowing that today would come,” he joked. He said the airport was ready to be put in service, and it would just be a matter of peeling the plastic of the seats.
“Having this air service is a sign that Inverell’s time has come,” Mr Marshall said.
He said the Brisbane service was just the beginning, with the long term goal of adding a Sydney service to the line up. Mr Marshall said the main obstacle in securing Sydney flights was the difficult slot management at Kingsford Smith Airport.
“It remains a huge disappointment that to date we haven’t seen any action on a federal level to change the artificial caps and regulation around that airport,” he said.

Brisbane to Inverell: Fly Corporate 888 leaves at 8.10am, arrives at 9.15am (Monday to Friday).

Fly Corporate have cleared with travel agencies to allow a 30kg increase for passengers commuting to an international flight or cruise.
