Mr Marshall was pleased with the turnout of more than 100 people saying he was glad to see that passion for the project was “stronger than ever” after the years spent “fighting for this redevelopment”.
The MP attended Friday morning’s session where representatives from NSW Health Infrastructure and Hunter New England Health reported community feedback as “overwhelmingly positive”.
“I saw many locals formalise their thoughts with a written note to the project team, and NSW Health Infrastructure were keenly writing notes during their many discussions with locals,” Mr Marshall said.
“This feedback will prove essential to guiding the development from this point on. The broad brush strokes of the plans are now complete and NSW Health Infrastructure will benefit from local knowledge while crafting the functional interior that will bring Inverell’s health service into the 21st century.
“This is an essential step towards getting a new hospital built – and I’d like to thank each and every local that’s contributed to this process, today or in weeks past.”
Mr Marshall said plans will be continue to be available online with the project team receiving feedback via email to HNELHD-Planning@hnehealth.nsw.gov.au
