Inverell East Rotary Club is behind the event which this year is supported by 17 local sponsors.
“It’s an opportunity for local people to showcase their talents [and] for spectators it’s a chance to see a really good variety show at a cheap price,” Inverell East Rotary’s Don Learmonth said.
Performers will be divided across two age sections: Junior for children attending school years 5 to 8; and the Senior or Open section for older entertainers.
All entrants must first pass the auditions scheduled for Tuesday, October 17.
“They have to be a reasonable standard to perform,” Mr Learmonth said noting that previous winners include Ashleigh Campbell and Megan Longhurst.
About 20 amateur or professional performers are sought for the show that will also feature last year’s winner, Josh Cunningham, singing two songs during the junior judging; and Chris Richter’s Joeys Oz Music Band playing during the final judging.
Prizes include $1000 for the winner of the Senior section and $100 for the Junior section winner.
Entry is free for performers with nomination forms available via the Inverell East Rotary website or at the Tourist Information Centre. Entries close Friday, October 13.
Audience tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for high school students and $5 for children and are available via www.trybooking.com/300961 or at the Tourist Information Centre.
Inverell’s Got Talent will play for one night only at the Town Hall on Friday, October 27, starting 7pm.
