Police stopped the vehicle but the 58-year-old female driver refused to undergo breath analysis, at around 8.45pm. Officers claim they could smell alcohol on the woman and she also had difficulty standing unaided.
Insp. Rowan said she was arrested and returned to Inverell Police Station where she again refused to undergo breath analysis.
The woman has been issued with a ‘field court attendance notice for the offence of refusing or failing to submit to a breath analysis’; and a notice of suspension of her driver’s license. She will front court on November 2.
