Craze Dance Academy is putting on a production of The Little Mermaid on Friday and Saturday evening, as well as a Saturday matinee. Evening performances include an added Dance Spectacular.
The Little Mermaid has a cast of 76 dancers ranging in ages from three to 18. Standout performers will be dance talents Eloise Moore as lead cast member Ariel, Tara House as Ursula the Sea-Witch and Millie Cracknell as King Triton.
Craze Dance founder Laura King promised the costumes alone would be incredibly impressive.
“Really beautiful, amazing, spectacular costumes,” she said.
She said with the dance spectacular, there will be about 220 local dancers performing from the academy, offering the audience a taste of everything including tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, and musical theatre.
“Every student in the studio performs,” Laura said.
“Hence my stress levels are reaching an all-time high at the moment,” she laughed.
The Little Mermaid and dance spectacular evening public performances begin at 6.30pm.
Tickets are $18 per person, and $12 for concession holders.
The Saturday matinee is The Little Mermaid only, and tickets are $12, with $10 for concession holders.
Tickets are on sale at Craze Dance at Country Fair, 6721 2339, or at the door.
