According to the Australian Scholarships Group (ASG), Australian parents having children this year can expect to pay the best part of $500,000 for their private school education.
That figure takes into account the myriad of costs involved, including transport, uniforms and school books, excursions, which ASG say can create financial headaches if they’re not planned for.
Headache! Sounds more like a monstrous, mind numbing migraine to On the Pulse. While the up-side could be that it may cut down on the gene pool of those ‘boys club, privately educated future political party leaders’, for today’s new parents it probably provides the material for a heart attack.
For a private education in Sydney you could expect to spend $456,933, but the ‘good news’ is that families living in regional areas can expect to pay only $321,663.
Even though a public school education costs significantly less (about $71,000 in Sydney and $54,000 in regional NSW) it is still enough to make you splutter into you coffee.
Size matters
On the Pulse has discovered Maccas is supposed to be celebrating its best known burger, the Big Mac, by offering customers a free fries and a free coke when they buy one!
The deal’s available until March 3, and will also apply to their Mega Mac, Angus Mac, McOz and Angus McOz.
On the Pulse thought that was a great deal; until we learnt it’s a free small fries and a free small coke. Bummer.
