Ms Kreis has been in the position of regional arts development officer for the past five years and left to undertake a new role as the Inaugural Director of Theatre Network NSW.
“It has been an immense privilege to live and work in the New England North West,” Ms Kreis said.
“Over the five years I’ve been in the position I have come to know and appreciate the diversity and wealth of arts and cultural experiences we can enjoy if we choose to.
“I hope that through Arts North West’s support, advocacy, and advice I am able to leave our region a little richer than I entered it but ultimately that responsibility lies with the individuals and organisations who do so much for their communities,” Ms Kreis said of her resignation.
Chair of the Arts North West Board, Rob Hurcum has been overseeing the recruitment process, which began on Monday.
“The board is sad to lose Jane as regional arts development officer as she has made a significant and unique contribution to the arts in our region,” Mr Hurcum said. “We are looking forward to receiving applications for this exciting and rewarding role.”
The staff and the board of Arts North West wish Jane all the best for the future and a heartfelt thanks for her commitment and enthusiasm to supporting and advocating arts and culture in the New England North West.
Arts North West is the peak body for arts in the New England North West, and has been based in Glen Innes. It employs a regional arts development officer and other staff who work to coordinate a cultural development program across the contributing local government areas in the region.
